A few years ago, Sylvie Amar designed two exclusive pieces for this symbolic Japanese brand, which is celebrating its 88th anniversary this year. In their Kujyukuri workshop in Chiba, Sugahara’s master glassblowers, who lovingly handcraft each piece, have reinstated these two Spola bowls into their catalogue. They are so technically complex to make that the unique know-how required almost disappeared, but in 2020, the company brought back the two Spola bowls, much to the delight of those who love the work of its master “glassmiths”.
Sugahara is therefore returning to France and exhibiting its creations at DOMA (17 Av. Ledru Rollin in the 12th district of Paris), which will be sold through Domapress.
Contact Domapress for further information or orders (product ref: Small SGHR-0121 or Big SGHR – 0059 Sylvie Amar Original Spola bowl).
