The restaurant La Famiglia in Paris’ 17th District has been entirely renovated by Moha, the Parisian interior designers. We also worked on this project, selecting new tableware for the establishment this summer, organizing their inaugural event in September and a photo shoot to illustrate their new press pack released this month. All this of course to a tight deadline to meet the client’s needs.
This restaurant really is very aptly named. You could almost write an Italian novel on the history of Rita Ruligna’s family (the daughter). She sums up 40 years of passion very succinctly stating that her parents (Michela – chef and Giovanni – front of house) left Italy, met in a Parisian restaurant, got married, had a daughter, opened their own restaurant with help from their uncles, aunts and grandmother, returned to Italy (all the family) where they started afresh and modified their approach before returning to Paris. There they opened a new restaurant rue Waldeck Rousseau (near the Porte Maillot), and Rita joined the family business at the age of 22. La Famiglia then modified its operations to release the mother from her kitchen duties and allow her to take a well deserved break! Rita redesigned the wine menu and product selection, reviewed the spirit of the family’s cuisine with Michela without betraying their basic principles and appointed a new chef. A new menu was produced (including the fresh home-made pasta and signature dishes of course) and a new setting created. This family has an impressive amount of energy and talent, taking us on a genuine tour of Italian gastronomy. A must if you weren’t at their re-opening this month.
